Back in the Game

I’ve got some great news for you all – I’m back! My life has been turning around, on so many levels.

1. My sex drive is back

Not partially, maybe back. Actually back. I’ve been off my HBC for about 3 months now, and I feel like I’ve never felt before. I’m horny at random times of the day. I’m yearning to be back at school with M so that we can fuck like bunnies. I’m having sexual dreams. I’m enjoying receiving oral sex, something that I don’t remember ever happening. It’s amazing. It’s freeing, and I’ve decided not to go back on HBC at all. I know that each person is different and that it can take a while to find the one that works for you, but I just can’t spend more months feeling asexual. It’s not good for me, and I’ve made the choice not to go back. It’s simply condoms from here on out, so hopefully all goes well.

2. M and I are back together

We had a great weekend together before I left for winter break, and we patched things up. There were romantic dinner dates, lots of sex, video games, and sitting down and having real discussions about what we did wrong when we were living together and how to not screw up in the future. I have a lot of hope for our relationship and I’m thrilled that we’re working through things. It’s made my days a lot brighter.
3. I’m enjoying writing again.

I think I needed a bit of a break because it was all starting to be more work than fun, and I tend to lose my motivation when such things happen. School has actually been helping in this vein, because we write a lot but it’s always enjoyable. I’m beginning to blend the lines between work and fun (since I chose to do something I love for a job) and that’s carrying over here.Unfortunately I still can’t finish any reviews until I get back at the end of December (my stuff isn’t here) but I promise I haven’t forgotten about them.

4. My practicum next quarter is working with Health Promotion

Which means that I’m finally going to get some real-world experience in sexual health education! I’m super excited. I’ll be helping the student group with a lot of organizational things, but I’ll also be able to get trained to put on presentations and such. I couldn’t be more happy that they are letting me work there for the term.

5. I made the list of Top 100 Sex Bloggers of 2011

This was a great honor for me, and has inspired me to really kick my ass into gear and get things sorted here. I know I want to write more, I have reviews I’m begging to finish, I have a store to re-set up and I have a forum that I started working on and never finished. These things need to happen, and I need to stop wasting my time on facebook and tumblr and start getting things done.

6. I was quoted in Caliber Magazine

Such a small thing, but one that I’m very excited about. I found a post on FetLife last year asking for folks from my school to answer a slew of interview questions about kink. Another student was working on an article for the magazine, and I thought it would be a great chance to help educate folks about the culture. Well, I went back to visit last week, picked up a copy, and there I was. It’s a wonderful feeling to see my name out there, even if no one at my school would recognize it as being me. 

So yeah, I’m back. I’ll be doing my best to write some quality articles in the next few weeks as well as keep you updated on anything interesting going on in my life or the sex-blogger world. And again, thanks for coming back time and time again to read my work; I love you all!
