This term, I’ve begun working with our Health Promotion department to get some sexual health education experience under my belt! I’m doing a lot of administrative work for them (updating the website and such) but I’m also going to be giving presentations on the proper use of condoms, gloves, and dental dams. We’ve also got presentations on contraceptives and STIs, so I’m reading up on all of my info and getting prepared to bring the penis models to a residence hall in a few weeks.
I’m so excited! This is the opportunity I never took during college and I’m thrilled to be working with the peer educators. I’ll also be helping supplement their presentations to try and make them more fun and interactive for the students they’re working with.

I don’t know if this is something you’ve done or not, but Planned Parenthood has awesome Sexuality Education courses. I was lucky enough to be sponsored through work but the prices aren’t outrageous for a 3 day training. Might check your local PP and see if any are coming up.
