On Thursday, I went to my very first drag show, hosted at UC Berkeley! It was a two-hour long performance featuring a range of San Francisco based performers:
- Honey Mahogany
- Glamamore
- Mona G. Hawd
- VivvyAnne ForeverMORE!
- Monistat
- Pepe Pan
- Suppositori Spelling
I had an absolutely fantastic time! Whatever I expected, it certainly wasn’t the show we got. There were super high heels, amazing wigs, and dance moves the likes of which I have never seen before. There was a black light and dresses made from trash bags, Halo mashups and one song that Suppositori Spelling learned on the way to the show. How awesome! We even had the opportunity to ask questions after the show; one of my friends asked where they hide “it”!
I even got a lap dance from Pepe.
If anyone is from the SF/Bay Area, I would highly suggest you check out these talented performers wherever they may roam. I’m going out to SF to see them again as soon as my birthday rolls around
